dry set patio question

Hi,

I recently acquired about 250 sq ft of "somewhat vintage," well-weathered bricks that I wanted to use for a patio. Only problem is they're not paver style bricks, they're building bricks (perforated w/ holes through the center).

Would I have problems with these bricks cracking in a dry set patio if I laid them w/ the perforations hidden (holes running horizontally)?

Only other option I can think of is to fill all the perforations with mortar to add strength.

Thanks for any suggestions!
