My drive belt keeps coming off when I turn my snowblower, any advise?

One problem may be that the guides that hold the belt tight, may be in the wrong position. The guides are thin metal bars that are held to the engine block with bolts. If they have shifted and are not holding the belt tight, when you engage the auger, the belt will come loose. Turn the blower off, replace the belt to the correct position and then position the guides so that they are making the belt tight, then tighten the guide bolts. This may not be your problem, but it's worth a shot.

Check to see that the belt is not skewed as it goes over the pulleys. If a pulley comes loose and slides up or down its shaft slightly, that causes such skewing.

Check to see that the belt is not too loose. On some models the idler pulley is controlled by the lever on the handlebars using a flexible cable. A turnbuckle like gizmo adjust the cable tension and also the amount of looseness the idler pulley can have.

Well, first of all, replace the belt. It will be no more than $25 and is something that eventually needs to be done anyway.

If it continues to slip off, the next step is to look closely at the idler pulleys and/or clutch mechanism. You could have a bent pulley, or bearing shot, or any other number of things.

Still, your first step is to replace your belt.
