Did I just waste my money?

I bought a bag of Soil Activator today and spread it in the yard. The bag says to water it in... well, it rained ( and still is ) pretty good a few hours after I applied it. I suppose this means I need to start paying attention to the weather huh?

I guess my real question is 'how much is too much 'watering in' '? Is it possible it will get watered in real good and not get washed away?

A soil test from a good lab should be able to tell you lots about your soil including how fast things you add to it might leach from either rainfall or irrigation. Obviously sandy soil is going to drain faster then clay.
