Decomposed Granite for a Pathway
Am totally a landscaping newbie, so need some basic advice. I am trying to make a natural-looking, inexpensive garden in my yard. The look I want could be called, "a walk in the forest." I've been told that a pathway made of decomposed granite with some redwood bark (AKA gorilla hair) would look nice with a few trees and clusters of plants and rocks here and there.
My question is: How do I prepare a pathway of decomposed granite? I figure I should lay some weed barrier down first, but am not sure if I need to use some flexible board to maintain the outline of the pathway or not.
Thanks in advance.
Your going to have to dig down below the top soil, compact the area, add some form of border, (metal works best, 4 X 4, 6 X 6's, never use landscape timbers they rot)use what's called driveway cloth then add the stone. You would be better off using crush and run so it will compact tight.
