Have a soil test done first at your local state agriculture extension office. Grass needs the correct pH and nutrients to grow properly. Absence of some trace minerals, like iron, might cause yellowing. If pH is off, that can also cause yellowing and poor absorption/use of nitrogen. Once you know what is missing/off, you can correct it. Throwing stuff on your lawn may be a big waste of money otherwise IMO.

Add nitrogen is the obvious answer but not without a soil test to see if what you add can even be taken up by the lawn. If your soil is wacked, whatever you add is just a waste of money.

What have you been using for lawn food. You did not over apply right?

Scotts and just recently Ironite. Got a good rain last night so I hope that will help. Its green but I want it dark green with no yellow. Thanks for the replies.
