Concrete Patio with a rock border ok?
 

I had a concrete patio poured in my backyard. Around the border is a small trench. I filled one side of the patio trench with dirt.

I would like to fill one side of the patio trench with small rocks that I have in my backyard. Would that cause a problem?

That shouldn't cause a problem at all.

I wasn't sure if water would be a problem and it might run under the cement, since I just have clay soil in my backyard.

That won't cause a problem at all. If it was graded properly prior to placing the concrete, the water won't get under there. If it wasn't graded properly, a little border of rocks won't make it any worse.
