comparable shrub

is there any bush thats comparable to a crimson pygmy barberry? I like the bush but i was looking for something that the leaves wouldn't fall off of it during the winter months. Any suggestions?

What are your objectives? Leaves that remain through winter, does it have to be a crimson/red bush of compact size?

You may want to consider:
Buxus microphylla 'Winter Beauty'

Buxus is a boxwood, with the typical glossy green tight to stem leaves. Small and compact, does shape and shear well like most boxwoods. Maintains leaves and given enough sun exposure, leave turn a bronze shade in fall.

Hope this helps!

There's a new lorepetalum- Dixie that is only about 2 ft x 2ft.

Correction- that should be Pixie. I was reading while I was home for a quick lunch.
