bumpy lawn

Hello everyone,
Year after year, my front yard seems to be getting bumpier and bumpier. Let me begin by saying that I don't have a build up of thatch. The primary two trees in this area are Pin Oalks. I've been wondering if since these Pin Oaks drop acorns and the squirrels go crazy at certain time of the year (doing a lot of digging) if this could be the cause. I wanted to just roll the yard, but was told to check as that isn't always a good idea. The tree roots don't seem to be an issue.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I'd take a closer look and see if you are having mole problems. see if you have tunnels, indicating moles.
