Which brand trimmer?

Looking to buy a new gas trimmer. I want one capable of changi attachments (blower,cultivator,etc...) I would also like to try a 4 cycle... Echo, still, etc... Are out of my price range. I'm looking at mtd pro, and cub cadet. Any opinions on either?

Your going to get what you pay for.

Stihl is king-of-the-hill.
Simple as that.

I work in a busy store that's an authorized Stihl dealer.
People fed-up with their cheaper trimmers end up here eventually...
And....they're almost NEVER sorry.

Go with a Ryobi 18v or 24v Battery operated. We have one, and doing four yards, which is about a acre, we barely use any charge on the battery. Get about four runs out of it, before we have to recharge the battery.

Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?

The MTD and Cub Cadet are likely the same. You'll need to compare the models but frequently the low end models are made by one company but with different covers and knobs.

Then again I've always had mtd mowers and NEVER had a problem with them (4 stroke).. I had cheaper 2 strokes for weed eaters and once in a while have issues... Which is why I'm considering the 4 strokes

We got about 10 great years out of our Ryobi before it died and then replaced it with a Troybuilt.

The Troybuilt is now 5 years old and even survived being submerged in water for 3 days and going strong. Weed wackers HATE me and the Troybuilt starts every time so its a winner for me.
