Best time to fight grubs?

Grubs are things I've never dealt with. I found lots of them while digging a shallow trench the other day.

I'm overseeding this weekend. Should I apply grub treatment before or after that?

If before, is there a wait period between treating for grubs and throwing new seed down?

If after, how long would I need to wait while the seedlings and starter fertilizer do their 'thang'?

Any recommendations on how to treat for them?

Insectiside should not hurt young seedlings but grubs chonking on their roots will. You might want to wait to seed until you are sure you eradicated the grub problem.

I applied some insecticide and the grubs all came crawling out of the ground within five minutes. I was surprised.

I'm sure there may be more but a lot came out. I'm sure the birds got them a sweet meal too.
