Question

Bedding plants growing into grass area

Hello DIY -

The border of my lawn has Isotoma fluviatilis 'Blue Star Creeper' (Laurentia). It is starting to migrate into my grass however. What is the best solution to prevent this other than manually digging it out? Should I install some type of plastic edging (if so, I would like it hidden as much as possible).

Thanks for any advice.

One option is to dig a thin 5" to 6" deep trench separating the grass and the ground cover.

Some ground covers will grow underneath plastic edging. I don't know that this is true of your Blue Star Creeper.
