I have a 18' easy set type pool and hate the plastic ground cover sheet that came with it.
It traps water on it from rain and splashing that goes gross if not cleaned up.

So I want to build an area for the pool.
I wondered about using outdoor carpet over sand
I levelled and packed a spot for it last year.
So I would use a bit of sand then put the carpet on it then the pool.
This would allow water to go right through the carpet and into the ground.
Probably use 4x4's for an edging.

Any other ideas of help would be appreciated.

Why not just put it right on the sand? Whats the edging for?

Sand around the pool would get tracked in as toys get knocked out.
edging To keep everything tidy, give something to cut grass against.

Very true. I guess the sides must be soft, so you don't want to bang that with the mower.

I've seen some people keep a bucket of water for feet dunking before re entry
