YELLOW GLUE and CRUMBLY BRITTLE TILE HELP

We are desperately trying to scrape up some old (30ish year old) tile that is thin, brittle and crumbly. It is coming up great in some areas--others it is STUCK. I need to know how to get this stuff up as well as the HORRID YELLOWISH GLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANKS

YELLOW GLUE and CRUMBLY BRITTLE TILE HELP

A little detail will help. What is the substrate the tile is attached to? If sheetrock, just remove it to the studs.

YELLOW GLUE and CRUMBLY BRITTLE TILE HELP

If this is floor tile, you should find out if it contains any asbestos. Same with the cement. You could be contaminating yourself and your house.
