Wrought Iron Hand Railing - Interio

I'm remodelling my living room and I have an old wrought iron hand railing.... i removed the carpet and the iron spindles are right into the wood floor... I removed the screws from the walls (at each end) and I can't remove the spindles from the floor? How would they fasten these to the foor? (would they have glued them?

If I can't get them out, can I cut them and re-mount them using new spinal monts

thanks....

Wrought Iron Hand Railing - Interio

I have actually had to do the same exact thing. I had a section of iron spindles stuck right into the subfloor and down to the framing, probably nearly 2" deep. I had a lot of trouble getting them out, but they did come out after enough pulling.

I can't say that yours will be the same, but mine were not glued or fastened, just really hammered in there...

Did you try unscrewing them? From the floor?
