Wood Stove Insert Conversion to Gas... Help

Hi, I am a fairly experienced DIYer; however, I have never done any fireplace work. I would like to try to take on this task mostly on my own, but I will be getting a permit and inspection. Also, the previous owner had gas lines already run to the fireplace.

I currently have a wood burning insert, exactly like the one attached, and I want to pull it out and install a gas insert. I am kind of lost at where to begin. Does anyone have any suggestions or estimates on how much work I am looking at? Do I need to just pull this insert out and just measure to buy a new one to fit? Any other comments on what I need to do?
