window installation question

How do you install casement and awning windows? I have to install a custom made window that replicates windows from the 40s(rope and pulley and cast iron weights) I heard it is like installing casement and awning windows, any and all help is appreciated, thanks.

window installation question

Your post is kind of vague and hard to understand(?)

New construction or replacement style windows?

Dependant on which type window, casement and awning are installed the same as any other window.

window installation question

It is a double hung, custom made to replicate the ones from the 40s with cast iron weights and rope and pulley. I said casement because some people said it is like installing casement windows. I dont know if it will have flanges to nail from the outside or not, that is my question does anyone know how these old windows were installed?

The older ones that i have worked with had a separate sill. you cut the sills horns to fit into the rough opening then install the window unit on top of the sill and nail the bottom interior or the window sill (1x4) to the sill that was cut and installed.
level the sill and install the window, plumb the sides and check your diagonals then nail through the exterior window casing (5/4"x ?) into the studs. install drip cap. then go inside and install the sash weights to the pulley rope or chain. BOB
