wet spots seeping thru joint compound


we poppet off OLD plastic wall tiles from kitchen walls. Patched holes and smoothed wall with joint compound ,we are seeing brown spots coming thru. the original wall is plaster. the house is old with no basement.

Most likely , you are seeing the old glue bleeding through

Prime it with a stain blocking primer.
