Weather stipping

I have just got my first house and I need to make it more effficent. When the front door is closed i can see light comming in and my heat going out. It does have weather stipping (the one that you just push in to the crack). I guess for some reason the bottom corner just does not like to touch the weather stip. Does any one have any ideas or know of a better weather stip to fix this problem?

On a side note I would also like to make my garage more efficient as well. I can see some light around the door and I am thinking about putting insulation on the door it self. What do you think or do you have any other or better ideas?

Weather stipping

If your door sweep is worn out, you may see light coming out of the corner.
