waterproofing an all tile shower
I noticed the wall tiles around the base of my walk in shower were coming loose. They used greenboard and no vapor barrier. The tile floor is still intact but the walls have to be replaced,(moldy). I was going to use durock but I can't figure out how to get a good seal around the bottom without a liner. The wall behind the greenboard is cinder block with a few thin strips of wood glued on to screw into, will this hold durock? and if I need to put more wood strips up what glue should I use? I need all the help I can get.
You would mechanically attach the wood to the block wall, don't just use adhesive. Use tapcons and screw into the mortar joints.
You need to mention what sort of shower base you have for the other issue.
