Vapor barrier in 45 yr old house?
Hi everyone,
I have been hoodwinked into remodeling the master bedroom. Removing a load bearing wall and extending the walk-in closet. The house, in Niagara Region in Ontario, is 45 years old and the original insulation is paper faced. My question is: "When I am ready to seal her up again, do I cover exposed areas of ceiling with vapor barrier after insulating? I'm not sure since the rest of the house has no vapor barrier and it seems kind of odd to place it in only a selct few locations. I'm thinking this may cause more problems down the road. As you can see, I really don't know the best plan of action. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thomas
