Upstairs wall opening

Our upstairs game room has a large opening that looks over our stairway. It is very loud when the TV is on upstairs. It is also loud for the upstairs if the TV is on downstairs. We have thought of putting glass blocks or shutter blinds to cut down on noise. Any ideas? We do like the light that comes through so don't want to wall it in.

Upstairs wall opening

of the top of my head i would say to skip the shutter blinds, as they probably won't provide much sound damping. some pictures would help.

I don't understand the light issue, dont most games have lighting for that particular game?? Blinds, curtains are not permant blocks, are two things that come to mind. Shutter type doors that can be opened, etc.

Yes ---windows can be installed----look for premade wood sashes---installing the sashes so that they can be swung into the room or lifted out for cleaning is the best plan.
