trying to find a matching color countertop

My ketchen countertop is some sort of man-made quartz or corian material. I want to make a center island with a matching counter top.
What is the best way to go about finding the matching countertop? or is it even possible?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
(btw, I have no way of contacting the previous owners who install the countertop many years ago)

Then a way to truly try to match it is to go to various suppliers and get samples. Even then the chances are colors will have changed since the original work was done so you won't be able to match it. Instead why don't you put a contrasting color countertop on the island? I've seen this done recently in many new and remodeled homes and it looks great. Definitely a lot better than putting something close but not an exact match on the island.

i have to agree with Msradell. A designer once told me that if you can't match it, better to make it look like it was designed to be mismatch intentionally, rather than look like it was a mistake.

Post a photo of the counter.
The first thing you need to know is what material the counter is made of.
