Trim before or after carpet?

What looks the best? to carpet first then install trim, or to put trim in first raised a little from the floor then carpet?

Before, so your done with paint, dirty feet, and anything else that could damage the new carpet.

You do need to verify with carpet guy how far to hold up the trim for whatever carpet you picked out, usually 5/8”.

The carpet tucks under the base. Hold up 1/2" for regular pile, 3/8" for Berber....
