Tile size does it matter:)


Hello, I'm redoing my bathroom and I bought tile that is 3/8" thick and it is 3"x6" subway tile can we uses this on the shower walls or is it too thick. ?? thank you guys Im confused!!!

Thicker should be less likly to crack so it should be fine.

Some of the hand made subway tiles from Spain and Italy are thick like that---they looks good--make sure you have matching bullnose and you are good to go.

When I re-tiled our shower (only my second tiling project) I used 1/4" porcelain floor tile, and installing our shower control was close. Plan ahead and make sure your plumbing will work with tile that thick.
