Tile backsplash if have laminate with wood edge??

In my kitchen I have laminate countertops with a wood edge, even on the 4 inch backsplash. To update the look for resale, I would like to add tiles. I would like to cover the remaining drywall with tiles but I think it will look odd to have tile continue up from the partial laminate wood edge. Is there anything I can do?? Can I remove the wood portion????? Any ideas and pictures would greatly be appreciated

So you're saying you have a 4" wood backslash on the wall now? This is odd as that item is usually the same material as the counter. If this was added after the counter, and not attached to the counter, then remove it and tile the whole wall.
If you're not sure if it's mechanically connected, you would need to find out before you attempted it's removal as it could damage the counter.

The 4 inch backsplash is laminate (like the counter) but it has a wood top to it. It is ugly... and I want to sell my house so I need to figure out how to make it look better. I will take a picture to show you guys..

Then remove it and tile the wall. How you remove it is based on how it's installed. If it's screwed up through the counter, then you'll need to loosen the counter from the cabinets and get access to the screws from below.
Take pictures of the whole counter. If it's an "L" counter against 2 walls, it will be tricky.
