Staron countertop

We recently had our tile (yuck) kitchen counter top replaced with Staron.
Unfortunately we did not heed the advise of the installers regarding using a cutting board. So now, we have a couple of fine knife cuts and also some scratching from green scrub sponge. I have heard that we can remove all of these with an orbital buffer/polisher. My question is: What compound would we use? and also what finishing level would we use?

Many thanks!

Mark

If a green PLASTIC "scrubby sponge" scratches it, I'd consider replacing it and get your money back. You'll never be happy with he quality. WTH did they make that from I wonder?
