solid surface

I need a pc of solid surface, does not have to be Corian. Around here Corian is only available to certified installers, as is some of the other similar materials. I need 12' for a project, any ideas on what brands are available to consumers?

Check local installers to see if they have any remnants available. Also, check craigslist in your area. I know my cousin (also a contractor) just sold 35 sq ft of corian on craigslist that he removed from a project.

Surrell, Avonite, are two that come to mind, but there are quite a few others. Check yellow pages for suppliers, many will sell to other than contractors.

Also for a DIY is the green product called paperstone. Their site has remnants of off sizes that are available at 50% discount and sold to DIYers. Very good product and very easy to use.
