Slide in Gas Range

Should the cabinet opening width be the same for all slide in ranges? Reason I ask is that I am in process of building new kitchen cabinets and was at the store looking at ranges the other day. They only had one slide in in stock, but said that the dimensions were different for all of them and that before I finish the cabinets, I should pick out the one I want.

I can't believe that all 30" slide in, or not, ranges wouldn't fit a 30" opening. I can believe that how the countertop lays over the range might matter, but I'm not ready for countertops yet. That's a ways down the road!

So, I leave a 30" opening for now, should I be good to go? Probably going with GE Profile 30" gas slide in, but still looking......
