shower wall help

I am at the stage in my bathroom remodel when I need to start hanging drywall and cement board. I am so confused as to what to use to waterproof the cement board around the shower walls. I have read probably 20 different ways of accomplishing this. Which way is the best I have no idea. I do want to do this right the first time so could someone give me a no bs solution to this?

Or you could use the paint on product, Redgard or one of it's counterparts.

shower wall help

There really is no "best way", all of the techniques have their advantages and maybe some disadvantages.

Personally I use Denshield wallboard and address the seams and nail holes with liquid waterproofing. That's it...nothing to it.

I find Red Guard easier for my DIY skill levels.
