Seeking Advice - Sprucing up front entrance at low cost
Hi everyone, I'm seeking advice or opinions. The pic attached is the front of my duplex, and I'd like to spruce up the front entrance, particularly around the front porch entrance.
Right now it's just panels of plywood painted with a white exterior paint that is now peeling off. I suppose simply scraping off as much loose paint as possible and re-painting it would be the cheapest thing to do, but I think what it really needs is a more resilient material like siding or fascia.
The taupe-colored siding is asbestos painted that color. I don't have any spare siding of this type laying around, unfortunately. I could probably source it from a re-use place or something.
The siding of the windows to the left and right of the door are encased in white aluminum fascia. But I'm not so sure that big flat pieces of white fascia would "look right" around the door.
So I'm open to about any suggestions... Replacing the plywood with a hardy-board type of material that's white and flat and doesn't require painting would be ideal but I'm not sure whether it exists.
