I just brought my new laminate countertop home. I saw a 4-inch scratch that was made back at the warehouse. I tried to buff it out with a scrubber sponge. Now the finish has whitened, and it looks like a big white smudge when standing back. Is there anything that I can do to try to fix this issue?
If so, one solution that comes to mind is to just do what you did to the whole thing. If it all looks the same it's going to look better than if one spot stands out.
You can also get wet-dry paper in very fine grits, like 400, 600, 800, and 1000, and work up through them, keeping the surface wet. That might not work though if your laminate has a texture.
