Removing Basement Walls

Hi,

I'm renovating my basement, and need to move some interior, non-load bearing walls. They are connected to the concrete slab floor using nails....does anyone have any advice on how to get the bottom 2x4 off of the floor?

Thanks,

Jamie

If you have a Sawsall---just cut the 2x4s near the nails--split the remaining bits of 2x4 with a chisel or the claws of your hammer.

The nails are hardened--smack them back and forth with a hammer and the should snap off.

Any that break above the surface may be ground off with a small angle grinder.

Always wear goggles and gloves when dealing with hardened nails--they can send chips into your body with surprising force.--Mike--

I remember seeing a clip a while back of a few kids using a bowling ball to take down a few interior walls, not terribly effective was sure look like fun.
