We have 2 doorways in the living room that go to the kitchen and a hallway. Originally when the house was built, there were doors there, but they were removed by the previous owners and there are some unsightly jambs there right now.
I'm in the process of retrimming the base and door casings in the house, and would like to get opinions on what to do with these.
One option is to leave the jambs, remove the door stops, patch the woodwork and re-case on both sides.
The other would be to remove the jamb all-together and make it a simple drywall opening with no casing.
The room is relatively small- 18' x 12' - and also has the front door, closet, and door to the garage, so I am wondering if I case them, would there be too much trim in that room.
Just looking for advice or opinions- thanks!
