I have alot of attic space that I'd like to utilize for storage. Currently there is no flooring in the attic, just the exposed insulation and joists for the ceiling below. Is it ok to lay plywood over to make floorboards? Or is this all left exposed for a reason?
Assuming that the ceiling joists are greater than 2x4's, and that the joists there are placed 16" OC, or less, then you should be able to add plywood, for the area to serve as storage.
You may need to reroute electrical wiring as it might be laying atop the ceiling joists.
