how do you know what you can and cant remove as far as walls go in a manufactured home?

That's a tough question for any one to answer without seeing the structure---

Is the manufacturer still in business? If so a call to their engineering department may be worth the call.

If it's a single wide there are no supporting walls.
If fact your going to be shocked when you see just how little that walls made of.
I've seen then made with nothing but 1 X 4's and staples. Some had 2 X 2 studs.

If your thinking about moving or removing a wall make sure you know what your going to do about fixing the funky ceiling material, and your going to be stuck with some floor repairs.

True. Singlewides are usually made of 2x4 perimeter walls and 1x3/1x4 interior walls and nothing more than staples holding your interior walls together. a few months ago i just finished gutting a 14x48 singlewide, and except for the perimeter walls, there wasnt a nail to be found. Interior walls of a mobile home are flimsy because the exterior walls support all of the weight. Doublewides im not sure, i would call the manufacturer, or pull the sheetrock down and see if it is a loadbearing wall

Really depends on the type and p[possibly year of the manufactured home. New ones around here are much better built, more like a house.
