Recessed Shower Stall

New here and doing a master bath remodel. I have a sunken shower{4"} that is part of the concrete slab. I would like to enlarge this shower by about 2 ft. How do you do this? Do you cut out the slab floor to enlarge the recess? Do you fill in the recess and build curbs to contain the new shower size or is there some other way this can be done?
Thanks
John

What sort of shower base are you planning to use?

Recessed Shower Stall

Ron
I havent made a decision but am leaning towards a Kerdi type of membrane. I'm not sure if it is even possible to expand this shower since it is sunken in the slab pour. It is neo angle in shape and I wanted to move one inside wall out about 2 feet to gain some additional room and elongate the shower. I'm not sure how I would be able to do this since the 2ft extension would be on flat grade with the rest of the bathroom.
Thanks
John
