Raising existing walls of a garage

Need to add height to a shed that houses our boat. The shed is 24 x 30 on a concrete slab. We would like to make the shed taller without taking off the roof. Has anyone ever jacked up the walls from the ground floor and added concrete blocks to raise the height of the shed by 16 inches? Shed has wood frame and sheet metal around the outside and roof. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Attach horizontial lumber to the studs. Use jacks to lift at the horizontal members.

Redline, have you ever done this or seen it done this way? I can't imagine any fasteners that would have enough shear strength for me to be comfortable lifting a building that big using that method.

Thats a pretty big building to even think about doing it yourself.

It can be done, but it is very dangerous and you want someone who has experience raising buildings.

IMHO - do not attempt this yourself.
