pocket door help

hi I would like to install a new pocket door in a regular door frame. The problem im facing is that I have a wall that is made up of 2x2's ( mid 50's built) and Im not sure if I have to re frame the wall or could I get away with just doing only part of the wall to fit the pocket door. The reason for the pocket door is needing for space/bathroom remodel.

pocket door help

A pocket door needs a minimum 2 X 4 wall. The wall is removed for a distance twice your door opening. The pocket door kit will contain the framing members (except the header materials) to rebuild the wall.
