Placement of electric range

I remember reading somewhere, and of course I can't find it now, about placement of your electric range a certain distance away from objects. Anyone familiar with this from the Ontario Building Code? I want to move our stove from its existing location to the opposite side of the kitchen in a pennisula that I will be installing. Is there certain restrictions on this type of placement?

Electric stove placement does not usually come with the same concerns for placement as high BTU gas ones but there is probably a code you need to know about proximity of direct overhead cabinets, those to the right and left and so forth.

I would think your major concern is not for the stove, but for the exhaust hood, or counter level exhaust system for the stove that may be code required even for an electric unit. Cannot help much without knowing code for your area. Best you ask first before moving and doing things though.
