oven exhaust.

I'm in the middle of a kitchen remodel. The old kitchen had an exhaust fan located on the wall behind the oven. It is a 12 X 12 square with a pull chain to exhaust to the outide. The current plans have an oven hood over the range, Can I install a 330cfu side blower to blow out the pre-existing hole? kitchen is 11X 14. Or do I have to vent up through the ceiling then out the side of the house from there. Obviously, going out the pre-existing hole would be ideal.
Thanks

oven exhaust.

That's a lot of air to move thru a 12x12 hole. That thing will suck everything out of the pans. What are manufacturers recommendations??
