Not enough redgard?

I have @ 63 sq ft of shower stall to cover with redgard. I did the priming, then 2 layers, each going a different direction with the roller. I've used up about 1.1 gallons of redgard, and the manufacturer says I should cover 35 - 40 sq feet with one gallon. So I used less than I expected.
Should I put on another layer of redgard? The first layer I put on like paint, rather thin, should I have laid it on heavier? Or am I overly worried about this? I know you shouldn't put on too much also.

What "priming" are you talking about? It's been a couple of years since I used RedGard, but I don't remember any priming being involved.

Priming is 1 parts redgard to 4 parts water, paint that on the panels first.

Does it say to do that somewhere on the can? I certainly don't recall doing it.

To address your original question, any coverage listed is just an estimate. A lot depends on the nap of the roller and how the stuff is applied. As long as you applied two coats and have to gaps, I wouldn't worry about it.

The priming recommendation is on the redgard manufacturer tech sheet, although the precise usage of the priming is kind of vague. I've read on the internet that some people do prime their boards, so I did it just to be safe.
