## Need advice: How much space should I leave between wall and bath vanity?

I currently have a bathroom vanity that is built in between two walls (picture attached). The wall to wall measurement is 83". We plan to get rid of that and buy a piece of those free standing furniture vanity that looks similar to this:

My question is - when selecting the width of a vanity like that, what is the ideal width that I should select? How much space should I leave between the left and right side of the vanity? Also, do you guys think it's weird to fit a piece of furniture vanity in between two walls like that?

Thanks.

Yes, but you said it and I just agree.

There are people that would die for that vanity you have and no way I would trade that for a purchased piece of - well - well - something that looks like curb side shopping results. My opinion again.

Now back to the question. 36" minimum clearance at each end. That will give you a 11" vanity if my math is correct.

Trimming of the rear legs is a common thing----dummies that design those things never installed one in a modern house. __________________ New members: Adding your location to your profile helps in many ways.--M--
