Marble Tile Countertop?

I have seen everyone say good things about granite tiles for kitchen tops.

I plan on using cement backerboard underneath the tiles. Here's my question.

I don't want any grout lines. So can i butt the tiles together and possibly put something in the cracks like putting silicon adhesive in the joints before i put the tile in?

Yes, I just read recently on the net recommending to use a diamond file to ease the top edges of your granite tiles, then butt them together. This leaves a tiny line to grout in with matching, unsanded grout that's then sealed.
