lcd tv over a gas fire place

what temp is to hot for this lcd 55 in tv over gas fire place with no mantle? can this be done?

Contact the manufacture of the TV.
Why not just add a mantel to help deflect the heat away from that wall?

lcd tv over a gas fire place

I had a 37" Toshiba over my gas fireplace for 4 years before we moved. No problems whatsoever. We did have a mantle though. (MDF base with hardwood ledge)
