Kitchen tile backsplash trim

Remodeling kitchen -does ceramic tile backsplash go under window trim or does it butt up to window trim? Tile first or trim first?

Kitchen tile backsplash trim

Usually, I run the tile up to the bottom of the sill and skip the trim. If for some reason the trim stays, I go under the trim slightly(hard to nail thru tile).

Kitchen tile backsplash trim

I usually use a two piece trim around the window. I install the main trim piece first( say a 2 1/2" colonial casing). Then I rabit a backband piece and install that. The tile slides into the rabit notch. This way the casing sits in front of the tile.
