kitchen remo
I was thinking about opening up the kitchen to the living room, supporting the house construction with some beam and demo the 3 column in the living room. I was also planning to close one of the windows and put cabinets up there. The idea is to make the whole kitchen more contemporary (everything on 1 side of the wall) and build a bar.

Would I be messing with house construction too much ? The whole project varies between 13K and 18K.. This is not a flip house. I plan to live here for a while, at the same time I would like to have a more contemporary layout. What do you think about it ? I welcome all the suggestions

First and foremost, do you know if you're planning on removing a structural wall? You may need a structural engineer to determine this and/or how to support any walls you do plan on removing.
That said, I do see things that may be behind the walls which you may have issues with after the walls come down. I see a return vent there. Is your HVAC system located in the basement? If so, what to do with that? Also, you have quite a bit of electrical to do. That is something I would NEVER encourage a home owner to tackle themselves.
To be honest, this is a very big undertaking and I would recommend the help of a professional.
