insulating my attic

Where and how should I insulate my attic?
Do I place insulation on the ceilings?
The floor is finished w/wood flooring. If I place insulation on top of the existing flooring, can I then place something above the insulation so that I can use the space for storage?

Lydia, check to see if you already have insulation in your roof rafters. If not, then this would be the best area for insulating your attic and using the floor for storage. As for insulation, it will all depend on the R-value that you are looking for. You can also use ridged insulation panels on the floor if need be. Make sure that you get dense foam panel for that.
