Question

insulating basement walls that are sealed

ok so im remodeling a basement for a friend, ive sealed the wall with the zinsser watertite. do i need a vapor barrier on the wall before installing fiber glass insulation??? also another question im insulating the celiings with r13 kraft faced fiberglass insulation, when instaling above heating ducts (supply ducts not return) i know the paper can not be close to teh ducting, so can i cut the kraft facing off in the areas and it still be a functional sound and heat barrier, and will it be safe?

Why can't the paper be close to the heat ducts? What do you think will happen?
They have special insulation used for sound deadening.

You might want to check the correct way to insulate basement walls.

As for the ceiling insulation, you don't need the paper anywhere on the ceiling, on a side note, FG bat is not the greatest for sound insulation.
