Installing a Storm Door

I live in an old house about 80 years old, but the whole house was remodeled and everything is new. I'm wanting to get storm doors in the front and back. There are just solid doors there now, both with existing transom windows above each door. I had them professionally measured and now they're saying that in order to install the storm doors, they must replace the transom windows too. I'd rather not have to do that, since they are already new. Anyone have any other options. Help!!!

Installing a Storm Door

The door seems to have a traditional brick molding. I don't see any reason to touch the transom window as it is not impacted by the storm door install. You need other opinions, as Atlantic stated.
