Installing Hardi board
 
i am putting down a tile floor around 500 sf .i bought 4x8 sheets of hardi backer an am using modified thinset and using 2 3/8 galvanized ringshank nails 4 the nail gun set to 80 psi. being that it is thinset in with modified would this work in your opinions.?

firreal---------Be careful with such long nails!!!!

If your house was built before 1970 you may have electric conduit under the sub floor.

Check with hardi I believe they suggest 1 1/4 " roofing nails.

With hardi the firmset is a must. I prefer durock myself.-MIKE-

The cheapest unmodified thinset you can find will be fine under the Hardie, next time use Ditra, lighter, faster, easier, better product.:yes:
